How Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R) Enhanced Real-Time Coverage With Intterra

Challenge

TVF&R's crews and battalion chiefs rely on Intterra daily for response aid and maintaining a common operating picture. A critical gap was identified in tracking unit move-ups, which are dispatched to ensure coverage in specific areas or with mutual aid partners. Once a crew moved to a different station and became available, their status became invisible in both Intterra and the CAD-connected mobile data computers (MDCs) in their apparatus. This lack of visibility hindered battalion chiefs' ability to manage coverage effectively in real time.

Solution

In response to this challenge, Intterra collaborated with TVF&R's dispatch center to develop a seamless solution. This enhancement pulls move-up status directly from CAD and displays it clearly on the Intterra map.

Results

This collaborative effort provided TVF&R's battalion chiefs with a more effective tool for managing coverage in real time, significantly improving situational awareness. The ability to visualize move-up status directly on the map allows for better resource allocation and ensures continuous, optimal coverage across their district.

"We're very pleased with the result and appreciate Intterra's responsiveness in evolving the platform to meet our needs."
