Back to blogSneak Peek: Our New Mobile Experience Is Taking Shape

|

This week marks an exciting milestone in our journey to reimagine the Intterra platform—we’ve received our first round of low-fidelity mock-ups for the new Intterra mobile application. This early preview reflects months of planning, collaboration, and thoughtful design decisions that prioritize the needs of our public safety partners.

Our new mobile app is being purpose-built from the ground up to support both iOS and Android users with fully native applications. Whether you’re in the field, at the station, or responding from a command vehicle, the app will provide the speed, reliability, and clarity needed in mission-critical environments.

What to Expect from the New Intterra Mobile App

The upcoming mobile experience is far more than a scaled-down version of our platform—it’s a streamlined, intuitive interface optimized for mobile workflows and low-connectivity environments. Here’s a quick look at what’s coming:

  • Common Operational Picture in Your Pocket
View a curated, mobile-optimized version of your agency’s real-time COP with customizable layers for incidents, units, preplans, weather, and more.
  • Smart Notifications & Situational Awareness
Receive in-app push alerts, SMS, or email notifications based on your preferences. Whether it’s a new incident workspace or an alert in your region, you’ll know right away.
  • Mobile-Friendly Incident Details
Easily view and update incident records with support for attachments (photos, videos), linked resources, and status updates—even offline.
  • Offline Capability
Designed to keep working when connectivity is limited. Core features like structure assessments and incident notes remain accessible and editable without a signal.
  • GPS Tracking with Opt-In Control
Enable GPS tracking to support accountability and safety, or disable it when privacy is preferred. Administrators can define agency policies, and users remain in control.
  • On-the-Go Dashboards
Access mobile-friendly dashboards for performance metrics and KPIs, including Unit Response Performance and Situation Status.
  • Data Editing in the Field
Update asset statuses, hazard tags, or structure assessments directly from your device. The app also supports editing external data (e.g., ArcGIS layers) when permissions allow.

This new app is the result of a deep collaboration with our development and UI/UX partners under a shared goal: to bring the full power of Intterra into the hands of those on the front lines.

What’s Next?

As we move from design into high-fidelity prototyping and development, we’ll continue to engage with customers for feedback and testing. Stay tuned for sneak previews, pilot invitations, and release announcements in the coming months.
