A Lifetime of Service Joins the Future of Public Safety Technology

Intterra is proud to announce that Chief Greg Brown has joined the company as Director of Business Development, bringing more than four decades of leadership and service to our mission of supporting the public safety community through innovation and technology.

lifelong resident of Eureka, Missouri, Chief Brown has been a cornerstone of the fire service since 1981, when he joined the Eureka Fire Protection District as a 16-year-old Junior Firefighter. His commitment to service and leadership led him through every rank—Firefighter/Paramedic, Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief, and Assistant Chief—before becoming Chief of the District in 1995, a role he held for an exceptional 29 years.

Chief Brown’s 42 years of emergency response experience, including 33 years as a command officer, makes him uniquely equipped to guide Intterra’s growth and impact in the fire service and emergency management space. As Director of Business Development, he will work closely with Kate Dargan, legendary industry leader and former California State Fire Marshal, to help shape Intterra’s strategic direction and ensure our platform continues to serve those on the front lines.

Throughout his career, Chief Brown has been a national leader in emergency response policy and innovation, earning the designation of Executive Fire Officer from the U.S. Fire Academy. He has served as a Fire Service Instructor, Fire Scene Investigator, HazMat Technician, and ICS/NIMS Instructor. His contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including:

  • Missouri Fire Chief of the Year (2007)
  • Eureka Fire Protection District named Missouri Fire Department of the Year (1999, 2012)
  • Missouri EMS of the Year (1997)
  • Lifetime Achievement Award from East-West Gateway Council of Governments (2024)
  • Missouri Salute Our Heroes Award (2025)
  • Resolution for Lifetime of Service by the St. Louis County Council (2025)

Chief Brown’s influence extends beyond his department, with leadership roles in countless boards and commissions such as:

  • Chairman, Missouri Fire Fighters Critical Illness Pool
  • Member, STARRS Board (St. Louis Area Regional Response System)

A family man at heart, Greg is the proud father of two sons—Kyle and Ryan—and grandfather to three boys: Ethan (12), Emmett (6), and Max (4).
